Eleanor is 34 weeks old!
Remember a few weeks ago when I said I was going to repeat “mama” to her? Well that definitely paid off. “Mam” “mama” and “bababababa” are her current favorite sounds. I don’t pretend to think that she actually means me when she says “mama,” but it’s a start.
I’ve always said that Eleanor loves to sing. A lot of her vocalizations consist of sing-songy sorts of squeals and melodic runs. Earlier today she was sitting and playing with her glow worm, which plays a selection of songs, making these sorts of sing-squeals and I swear she matched notes with the worm for a few seconds. We’ve got a musical prodigy on our hands folks! Baby Mozart!
Of course I’m just kidding. I know it was just a fluke, but there is a teeny tiny irrational part of me that wonders if all of the music we have played for her since she was a newborn is somehow rubbing off. We bought a new classical guitar last weekend and I’ve been playing “Edelweiss” on it nonstop. I bet it was all that “Edelweiss.” She’s trying to tell me she wants us to be the next von Trapp Family Singers. I guess I’ll have to make her six more siblings.
(P.S. You can kind of see all four of her teeth in the third picture!)
