Eleanor is 33 weeks old today!

She wasn’t really in the mood to be my model this afternoon, and she really didn’t like it when I took away the fun lens cap she had just found, but I have to admit, I kind of love pictures of her crying. So much emotion! So much drama! But everything turned out alright in the end.

This week Eleanor really developed mastery over the pincher grip. She is now a puffs eating machine, working that little thumb and forefinger like a pro. Because of doing Baby Led Weaning she learned to pick up food, hold it, and take little bites off of it rather than putting the entire thing in her mouth, and she tries to do this with puffs even though they are so tiny. It’s pretty much the cutest thing ever to watch her gingerly pick up a little star-shaped puff, bring it to her mouth, and then nibble off one of the points.

This week she also started learning how to wave. We can only get her to wave back about half the time, but it seems like when she is doing it there is that little glimmer of recognition in her eyes. It’s really amazing to watch her learning and making connections.

I did a pretty good job of keeping my resolution this week. Many of you suggested taking her to the library, and not long after I made that post I checked our local branch and saw that morning they had a “Baby Bounce” time, which is songs and stories for babies under 18 months. I packed us up in the stroller and off we went. It was pretty enjoyable. Eleanor seemed like she had a blast and even laughed out loud a few times. She really liked the playtime afterwards too. I think we’ll definitely make it a regular thing. Then Thursday we walked down to Trader Joe’s to get a few groceries, and today we went for a walk and to the park.

I’m going to try to stick to this schedule:

Monday - stay home, clean
Tuesday - library for Baby Bounce
Wednesday - Take a walk and get a treat (a cup of tea, frozen yogurt, something yummy from a bakery), go to the park
Thursday - Go for a walk with my friend
Friday - Either another park day or a stay at home day, depending on how we’re feeling

I might work in more grocery trips in there too. We’ll see.
