Nursery Palettes
I’ve been playing around with a few color ideas today.
Ignore the variations in the lavenders and browns. I should have used the same one every time, but I was being lazy. So as I already mentioned, the crib bedding is white and lavender, and the furniture is dark brown.
My favorite so far is the top one. I like the chartreuse color. I’d love any feedback.

We got so many cute baby things for Christmas, here are a few of my favorites.

Favorite Christmas Presents
Pentax K-X DSLR camera, which we will use to take many beautiful photos of the baby.
The world’s greatest rain boots which don’t actually look like rain boots at all. These are rubber, but you would have to touch them to know.
We also got so many cute things for Eleanor. I’ll have to do a separate post of my favorite baby gifts later.

Bizarre Pregnancy Jealousy
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Before I was pregnant, I was very broody and would feel a sting of jealousy whenever I saw a pregnant woman on the street. Now that I’m pregnant, it still happens from time to time. I have to step back and remind myself that I’m pregnant too and there is no reason to be jealous of random pregnant strangers.
I realized the situation is even worse...
Waking up in a quiet house, all alone, knowing that I will be alone until Andrew comes home at 6:30 is so depressing after waking up for 6 days in a house full of noisy children. I can’t wait until the baby gets here, just so I will have someone else to spend my days with.

Tomorrow
We have an early morning appointment for our anatomy scan, when we should hopefully be able to finally learn the sex of the baby. I’m really excited, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up, just in case the little one decides not to be very cooperative.

So I think I hate Babies R Us
After moving from a suburban nightmare like Phoenix to a place like the East Bay (suburban, yes, but far less so), I kind of forgot how depressing those big box stores are. Yeah, we have them around here too, but not in nearly the same numbers. I have to take a significant amount of public transit to get myself to a Target or a Walmart or a Babies R Us.

I went into the kitchen to start baking some cookies for a Christmas party we are going to tomorrow, and my oven is totally broken. I also promised to bake dinner rolls. Of course I had to volunteer to do only baked goods and then have my oven break.

I need to find some sort of gentle cardio exercise that I can do indoors to replace my typical brisk 4 mile walk.
